Sweden is an amazing country. There are only 8 million people and yet the country manages to produce constantly music and artists for the whole world to enjoy. I guess it´s all that well-being and middle class life that makes it possible for everyone to just concentrate on beautiful things like art, creativity and self expression.

Today I read about The New Yorker music columnist Sasha Frere-Jones´ favorite album of the year, which is Anna Ternheim’s Halfway To Fivepoints. Anna heils from Stockholm, Sweden. Both El Perro del Mar and Anna Ternheim are talented singer-songwriters with their own unique style.

Is Body Crash going to be the biggest club tune this summer in Europe? It surely has all the potential. Pete Tong named Body Crash a killer tune and DJ´s around Europe are calling it the essential track of the year.
Body Crash by Buy Now is a track from Sweden, the guys behind it are Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso from Swedish House Mafia. The name "Buy Now" is awful, but the Body Crash video is super cool and clearly has a message. Air France comes from Gothenburg, Sweden and creates universal, shimmering music. Their new EP is out and here are tracks both from their earlier releases and the new No Way Down EP. Air France sounds very soundtrack like, their music brings in mind different landscapes. Maybe Sofia Coppola could use Air France on her upcoming movies.
Cloetta Paris is a new duo that makes wonderful disco house. They come from Stockholm, Sweden and create music that is fragile and light, music that is created by people who have no real worries in life. The influences are late 80s Italo disco mixed with French athmosphere.

I´m not a fan of Lykke Li. I find her childish vocals and Swedish accent irritating (just hers, not Swedish accent in general). But everybody keeps talking and blogging about her, so I guess I must surrender under social pressure.

Sarah Assbring is El Perro del Mar , and her album From the Valley to the Stars was released this week. Listen to Glory to the World on http://www.myspace.com/elperrodelmaris . The song is a weird, melancholic little tune, at times almost like a hymn sang by a child.
