Britney´s new single Womanizer is such a energy shot and so is the new video! In the video she plays several characters from waitress to police woman and has different looks (most notably sings nude while in a steam room).
Just can´t help loving everything the MGMT guys do. Now it´s the new MGMT video The Youth, directed by Eric Wareheim. The song is brilliant and the video to The Youth carries the consistent psychedelic electro/indie MGMT style, this time with breakdancing disco kids.
Katy Perry´s new single Hot N Cold is very mainstream pop and a text book example of mainstream pop songwriting. It´s written by baby-one-more-timeMax Martin and produced by Dr. Luke (he´s worked with Avril Lavigne). What I like about Hot N Cold is the electro sound and synths.
The new video for Hot N Cold shows how see-through the product placement in music videos has become. In the video we see Diesel sunglasses and Nokia mobile phone. The video is actually quite funny, except it presents annoyingly stereotypical gender roles.

Sweden is an amazing country. There are only 8 million people and yet the country manages to produce constantly music and artists for the whole world to enjoy. I guess it´s all that well-being and middle class life that makes it possible for everyone to just concentrate on beautiful things like art, creativity and self expression.
Earlier today I posted El Perro del Mar´s Glory To The World video; El Perro del Mar is Sarah Assbring from Sweden. Today I read about The New Yorker music columnist Sasha Frere-Jones´ favorite album of the year, which is Anna Ternheim’s Halfway To Fivepoints. Anna heils from Stockholm, Sweden. Both El Perro del Mar and Anna Ternheim are talented singer-songwriters with their own unique style.
Anna Ternheim offers free download, an acoustic version of her upcoming single What Have I Done. Download “What Have I Done”on annaternheim.com and watch Anna and Björn Yttling play the acoustic version below:
Ladyhawke releases second video for her single Dusk Till Dawn, because “I wanted to make a video for fun, using webcams and a bunch of friends. Not the most original idea, but it was a good time. This is the result! I just want to thank everyone who took time out to make a video for me. It is much appreciated!”

Here´s the first, original video for Dusk Till Dawn:
Here´s the new Kaiser Chiefs video Never Miss a Beat showing youth wearing masks. It´s the first single from the new album co-produced by Mark Ronson, who has made Kaiser Chiefs sound more serious.

Iglu & Hartly are giving away a song Jump Out of Your Car. The song is electro-pop/new wave sung in party band attitude. The download is for UK only, but you can just choose UK as your country and add UK postal code (like KT22).

Housse de Racket is a new, fresh band from France. The bandis heavily influenced by Anglo-American pop music and culture, but sing in French pop tunes like Oh yeah. Housse de Racket´s first album will be out October 13th, before that listen to synth-pop track Forty Loveon their MySpace page and watch Oh Yeah video below. I like the sports concept of the video and all the different ways to write “Oh Yeah”.
Look At Me (When I Rock Wichoo) by Black Kids is the third single from their debut album Partie Traumatic. The video is fun fun fun, cartoons, racing, space and nostalgically cheerful, just like the Black Kids always are.
Natalie Portman´s Shaved Head is a new band from Seattle. Their new album, Glistening Pleasure, is out now and they have been touring with CSS. Natalie Portman´s role in the movie V for Vendetta obviously made an impact on these guys. But the band is no joke, they´re wonderful! Energetic, fresh, very 2008. Natalie Portman´s Shaved Head is synth pop, video games, graffiti art, banner ads.
Watch the video and listen to the song Sophisticated Side Ponytail, it´s very catchy! There´s only one right answer to the question “Do you like my ponytail”?
