I listened to Kriss Kross by Guillemots a lot last Spring and now Guillemots release Kriss Kross video. The video is kind of raw and even a bit grotesk. But the track is super strong, big beat indie rock and still worth listening.

Yeasayer is one of the most interesting bands that emerged last year. They come from Brooklyn (which seems to be the place for interesting acts at the moment), tour with MGMT and create experimental indie rock. A track from Yeasayer album All Hour Cymbals called Sunrise is available for free online. The song is very original and intellectual yet easy to listen.

Mates of State is an American indie-rock duo that everybody is talking about. At first I was a bit hesistant, but now the husband-and-wife team of Mates of State actually sounds good. Download for free Mates of State track My Only Offer here:

Electric Feel by MGMT is just amazingly good song. There has been at least two videos for Electric Feel before, but I guess this is the official. Looks like the production cost is higher than in the previous two.

A bunch of indie artists have made a tribute to Madonna called Through the Wilderness . The album is to be released early September but some of the songs can be heard via MySpace. There are interesting indie covers of Hung Up, Live To Tell, Like A Prayer, Material Girl etc. If you listen to the covers, you´ll notice that a great song is a great song no matter how you play it. Hung Up sounds wonderful even when it´s played down. And listen to the version of Live To Tell !

The Ting Tings track Shut Up And Let Me Go is featured on the new iPod ad. It´s going to be a great boost for them, just like the iPod Nano ad was for Feist and iPod Touch ad for CSS . I must say the agency which chooses the tracks for iPod ads is really a star maker.
