I like music that has structureand Fujiya & Miyagi material is just that. Here´s the latest single from their latest album Lightbulbs and the video for Sore Thumb, directed by Wade Shotter. The video is simple and cool, analog pretending to be digital.
If you´re in a mood for sophisticated, intellectual indie electro, click on over to Pitchforkmedia and download Stereolab - Neon Beanbag (Atlas Sound Remix).
Fujiya & Miyagi have created a 43-minute running mix for Nike+. Hear a selection of the mix called Paper Airplanes on their MySpace.
A friend of mine, who´s totally into English music scene, recommends Fujiya & Miyagi. Their new album Lightbulbs is out on Monday and the video Knickerbocker came out a couple of weeks ago. The track Knickerbocker starts with lyrics “vanilla, strawberry, knickerbocker glory”, and it´s a perfect example of their krautrock, electronic influenced sounds.
New Stereolab album Chemical Chords is out, check out the video for the second single Neon Beanbag:
I´ve always liked Stereolab, they are an original, intellectual group. Stereolab´s lounge-indie-electro style, female vocals (sung in French or English) and the use of vintage electronic keyboards create melodic, harmonic pop sounds. Listen to some older Stereolab tracks from the 90s, brilliant Cybele´s Reverie and equally fantastic Raibo Conversation below:
