Ratatat´s new single Shempi is out with remixes. Mirando was one of my favorite tracks last summer, I really like the electronic music that Ratatat (guitarist Mike Stroud and synthesizer driver and producer Evan Mast) creates.

Australian electropop band Van She (or more speficially Vanshe Technologic, 2 members of the Van She who make remixes), have reworked fellow Australian Empire of the Sun´s great pop track Walking On A Dream, which I posted a couple of weeks ago. Hollywood, Mon Amour is a collection of classic songs from the movies of the 80s rearranged by Marc Collin, Nouvelle Vague’s producer. The album will be released in October and before that you can listen to  songs like Call Me, Flashdance, This is Not America, Footloose, Eye of the Tiger, When Doves Cry on Hollywood, Mon Amour MySpace. The songs really take on a new life!

This is too good! Baltimore rap duo Get Em Mamis rhyming over Madonna´s Music and Who´s That Girl. Get Em Mamis are making a new mixtape called the Material Girls. The duo gave The Rolling Stone an advance listen to the first two tracks, Music and Who’s That Girl. The tracks are just wonderful, listen to them right here.

Antony & The Johnsons new EP Another World will be out on October 7 through Secretly Canadian. The new album The Crying Light will be out in January.

Sonic Youth bassist Kim Gordon has always been cool and now she has launched a fashion line for cool moms. According to New York Times Kim Gordon said: “There’s a need for clothes for cool moms”. To fill the gap, she has started a clothing line called Mirror/Dash with her friends Melinda Wansbrough and Jeffrey Monteiro. The name is taken from her experimental music project with her husband and Sonic Youth bandmate, Thurston Moore. Their first piece: a military-style wool jacket inspired by Françoise Hardy.

The super cool Mirror/Dash jacket costs $415 and there´s a limited-edition of 50 jackets for now. Orders are currently accepted for the coat through the Mirror/Dash website.
