Beautiful “My Mistakes Were Made For You” by The Last Shadow Puppets

Published by Tape Recorder at 4:51 pm under Pop, indie

I have a weakness for string arrangements on pop records, so when I heard The Last Shadow Puppets new single My Mistakes Were Made For You, I was immediately hooked. My Mistakes Were Made For You features the London Metropolitan Orchestra, conducted by Polar Prize winner violinist Owen Pallett, who also plays the violin with Arcade Fire.

The Last Shadow Puppets album The Age of the Understatement is a 2008 Mercury Music Prize nominee. The Last Shadow Puppets vocalist Alex Turner has already won the Mercury Music Prize two years ago with his other band Arctic Monkeys, who are, I guess, more original than The Last Shadow Puppets, but I prefer them over Arctic Monkeys anytime.

Watch the new video to My Mistakes Were Made For You below. The video is a bit pompous.
